被誉为“人间瑶池”的黄龙风景区,坐落在川北高原巍峨岷山主峰雪宝顶北麓的藏龙沟中,距松潘县城50多公里,为涪江上游的一条支沟,长7.5公里,宽1.5公里,海拔3200～3600米间,雪宝顶海拔5568米,终年云冠雪笠,银光闪闪,冰川地貌十分发育,故藏龙沟为古冰川活动形成的冰槽谷,纵向坡度小,底部较开阔,利于碳酸钙堆积,从而孕育出罕见的钙华奇观。
