平和县长乐乡福塘茶场有人口3386人,621户,分为18个生产队,总耕地面积1983亩,人均0.58亩,属人多耕地少的山区。1956年村委会组织社员办茶场,开辟茶园158亩。但由于种茶经验不足,加上管理体制等问题,单产低,年产量仅8000—9000斤。为着改变生产面貌,提高经济效益,1978年开始改造低产茶园,逐年分批分片改植换种,茶叶产量不断上升。1984年采摘茶园面积120亩,产量已近三万斤,产值66,000元,平均亩产超过二百斤,产量、产值比1978年增加二倍。其主要经验是:
