A chemical research team in the United States has developed a simple model for predicting the efficacy of carcinogens. Many chemicals are potential carcinogens. The important question is to try to identify which carcinogens are carcinogenic and which are metabolized by the body to become harmless. Scientists have determined carcinogenicity based on animal experiments, but the results of experiments are often influenced by the animal’s age, health, whether it is purebred and the dose of carcinogen. Other theoretical models for predicting carcinogenicity involve very complex quantitative mechanical calculations. However, the new model only needs to check the chemical structure of the material molecule.
