液压缸工作的可靠性和使用寿命,在很大程度上取决于所采用的密封。全苏冶金机械科学研究所在建立专用液压设备的过程中,对液压缸的密封件提出了更高的要求,而利用现行标准的一般结构是不能充分地满足这些要求的。在研制和使用静液挤压机、大功率试验压机和具有巨大轮廓尺寸动力缸的压机以及其它机器时,对设备的密封件提出如下要求;工作液体压力为0～600MP。宽阔的范围内具有高度密封性;密封长期运转无特性恶化(最少磨损);摩擦力损失最少;摩擦损失稳定,即防止跳跃式运动—液压缸工作平稳;安装和拆卸简单。
