About Nianziziwan Channel Nianziziwan Channel is located between Shishou and Jianli in Hubei Province. It is 365 kilometers away from Hankou in the lower Jingjiang section of the “Nine Ileum” in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. Since 1949, there have been two natural cuts and two manual cuts under the Jingjiang waterway. From the late 1960s to the early 1970s, after three cuts in Jingjiang, the slope of the Nianziziwan watercourse became steeper, exacerbating the coastline along the northern shore of the fish-tail island.
