对于成语“不可救药”,《辞源》(修订本)、《辞海》、《中华成语大辞典》(海南国际新闻出版中心)、《新编成语多用词典》(金盾出版社)、《现代汉语词典》五种语文工具书皆把“药”字释为名词“药物、药品”之“药”。愚以为不确。“不可救药”之“药”字应当是动词,表示“疗、治疗、疗治”之义。“不可救药”源出《诗经·大雅·板》:“多将熇熇,不可救药。”原意是说西周厉王多行暴政,就像重病人一样,不能再医治了。而唐朝孔颖达解释这两句话说:“多行惨酷毒害之恶,谁能止其祸?如人病甚,不可救以药。”孔颖达把“不可救药”解释作“不可救以药”,即“没法用药救治”。这种解释在意义上说得过去,但不符
