The “Introduction” to Engels’s “Dialectics of Nature” is the most complete and important essay in the book. Its main content is that through the study of the history of the development of natural science, it is bound to bankrupt the natural view of metaphysics and the natural law of dialectical materialism inevitably produces this objective law. While studying the history of the development of natural science, Engels came to the conclusion that “the birth and development of science were decided at the outset by production.” (Dialectics of Nature, p. 162, Name of the real code, is the page number of the book) crushed the kind of natural history of science and technology as accidental discovery of individual scientists. But we must also see that Engels also put forward in this article a Marxist view of great practical significance and far-reaching historical significance, that is, the social revolution promotes the development of natural science.
