侦查监督是人民检察院依法对侦查机关的侦查活动实施的监督,是人民检察院承担的一项重要职能。侦查监督对于保护公民权利、维护司法公正具有重大意义,是人民检察院履行控诉职能以实现犯罪追诉权的需要,也是保障犯罪嫌疑人、被告人权利的需要。但是,当前侦查监督机制存在一些问题,使其未能充分发挥作用,因此,应当完善侦查监督制度,保证侦查活动的合法性。
Investigation and supervision is the supervision exercised by the people’s procuratorate in carrying out the investigation activities of the investigation organ according to law and is an important function undertaken by the people’s procuratorate. Investigating and supervising is of great significance to the protection of citizens’ rights and the maintenance of judicial fairness. It is the need of the People’s Procuratorate to perform the prosecution function in order to realize the right of prosecution. It is also the need of safeguarding the rights of suspects and accused. However, there are some problems in the current investigation and supervision mechanism, which make it not fully play its role. Therefore, the system of investigation and supervision should be perfected to ensure the legitimacy of investigation activities.
