REDD stands for “Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation” program. The REDD Forest Conservation Initiative, which was launched by the Copenhagen Summit, is not led by the UNFCCC, which means that no progress can be made without the unanimous consent of the 192 nations of the United Nations. On May 27 this year, more than 50 countries joined the REDD + program at the Oslo Climate Change and Forestry Conference in Norway. Developed countries will provide over 4 billion U.S. dollars over the next three years to protect the forests of developing countries.
