There has been no conclusion as to the nature and concept of art and the constant discussion among the theorists of the art about Stephen’s work on Duchamp in the 1960s. As a kind of art, the development of shelf painting to today, its nature, status, and evaluation criteria are quite different from the past. In the contemporary context, how should we re-examine the painting on the shelf? With this topic as the center and beginning, four artists such as Yuan Zuo, Marko Mak, Ma Shuqing and Ni Jun started to talk in the middle art gallery.
