In this study, 68 cases of workers exposed to chlorbutadiene (CBD) and 49 healthy people were investigated. The results showed that the content of glycocholic acid (CG) in serum of CBD exposure group was significantly increased, while the serum alanine aminotransferase, zinc sulfate turbidity test and thymol turbidity test did not change significantly; whole blood glutathione Oxidase (GSH-Px) activity and serum ceruloplasmin (CP) content decreased significantly, which is consistent with the results of animal experiments, that is, the active intermediate produced by CBD in vivo can lead to oxidative damage. Serum CG levels, whole blood GSH-px activity, and serum CP may be biomarkers of adverse health effects from exposure to CBD.
