以国际期刊文章中对“in other words”的使用为参照,细致全面地考察了中国英语专业硕士学位论文中“in other words”出现的句法环境、该标记语所引入的重述话语的限定范围,以及所引入的重述话语的语用功能。研究发现,二者在这三方面均存在差异。这表明,虽然这些英语学习者具有较高的英语水平,但有不少人尚未完全习得“in other words”的用法。
Taking the use of “in other words ” in international journal articles as a reference, the syntax environment appearing in “in other words ” was carefully and comprehensively examined. The restatement introduced by the markup The limited scope of discourse, and the pragmatic functions of reintroduced discourse. The study found that there are differences in the three aspects. This shows that although these English learners have a high level of English, many people have not yet fully learned the usage of “in other words”.
