The assessment of non-metallic inclusions in steel, the current more is the use of standard grade comparison chart rating method. As the sulfide along the processing direction are not necessarily all strip, which gives accurate rating to bring some difficulties. To this end, we tested two new methods to identify sulfide in steel-sulfide film precipitation and silver nitrate solution treatment. The samples treated by the above two methods have white sulfide inclusions and are easy to distinguish from other inclusions in the steel. The operation is simple and the effect is obvious.
