1956年1月,我从南京华东军区干部训练大队调往四川省犍为县负责接兵工作。不久成立了新的预备一师,我所在的单位是预备一师第三团。新兵征集入伍才进行军事政治训练3个多月,就听到凉山彝族自治州奴隶主勾结国民党胡宗南残兵败将挑动不明真相的奴隶发动暴乱。当年4月就接到上级命令要我们做好一切向凉山彝族地区进军的准备。
In January 1956, I transferred from Nanjing East China Military Cadre Training Brigade to take charge of military operations in Qiong County, Sichuan Province. A new preparatory division was soon established, and my unit was a third regiment of a division.
