The merger of Sakhalin, a subsidiary of French liquid-empty Japan and Beau Site in Japan, has been approved by the European Commission. The joint venture is named Japan Air Gases Ltd. and is managed by the Japanese. The company will become Japan’s major industrial gas company. This is the second merger of the two companies, the first of which occurred in February 2000 and resulted in a merger of abortions without the approval of the BOC’s board of directors. The joint venture will be the second largest gas producer in Japan with annual sales of 1.2 billion euros. The Japanese gas producer’s boss is Japanese acid. In the joint venture, Air France holds 55% of the shares and BOC owns 45% of the shares, both of which have equal rights on the board of directors. This cooperation does not include the engineering and equipment construction business of Air Liquide, nor does it include the BOC Edwards’ electronic equipment business in Japan and the BOC’s stake in Japan’s Helium Center.
