对于“幸福”,不同的人,有不同的理解。我,一个平凡的教师,走过了70年曲折的生命历程,度过50年淡泊的教学生涯,对“幸福”有独特的体会。教师的幸福在于“桃李遍天下”,这是从事任何其它职业的人所难以比拟的。我就有无数的好学生。去年4月,我不幸中风,陈求德医生知道了,立刻设法介绍我入嘉诺撒医院求诊。院内的物理治疗师、护士和工友们,都叫我做“教师”——这是多么亲切的称呼啊!我的床位窗台上摆着香港中国语文学会、香港教育专业人员协会和培正毓社香港同学会送来的花篮,还有沙田循道卫理中学校长刘贺强同学从校园摘下送来的一束百合花,清香扑鼻,使我感到“桃李芬芳”。
For “happiness”, different people have different understandings. I, an ordinary teacher, has gone through 70 years of tortuous life course, spent 50 years of indifferent teaching career, and has a unique experience of “happiness”. The teacher’s happiness lies in the “Peach and Li all over the world,” which is incomparable to anyone engaged in any other profession. I have countless good students. In April of last year, I had a bad stroke and Dr. Chen Qide knew. I immediately managed to introduce me to Canossa Hospital for treatment. The physiotherapists, nurses, and workmates in the hospital all called me “teachers”—how kind it is! The Chinese Language Society of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Educational Professionals Association, and Pei Zhengshu Club are on the window sill of my bed. The basket of flowers sent by the Hong Kong Reunion Club and the bouquet of lilies that the school principal Liu Heqiang of Sha Tin Methodist Middle School had picked off from the campus smelled like fragrance.
