王家坪在延安城的西北方,隔延河与城相望。村子处在两座大山脚下,左边的叫脑畔山,右边的叫花豹山。王家坪最初叫牡丹坪,因这里的老乡多种植牡丹花而得名。后来一位王姓的人家将多数地方买去,改名叫王家坪。当年,这里是中央军委和十八集团军总司令部的旧址。党中央进驻延安后,军委和总部机关在这里领导根据地军民坚持了八年抗战。日寇投降后,又粉碎了国民党反动派的全面进攻。1947年3月18日,毛泽东、周恩来率部由这里撤离,转战陕北。 Wangjiaping Yan’an City in the northwest, across the river and the city across the street.
