当代西方未来主义社会思潮是指20世纪70年代以来风行于世界各国、重在思考未来社会发展的前景和走向,积极地影响大众思维和公共决策的一种社会思潮。这种社会思潮的特点是关切人类命运,预测方法科学先进,重于介入社会管理。由于受启蒙发展的规律性限制未来主义思潮有其自身的不足与局限,但其中生态学流派代表人物丹尼斯.米都斯所阐述的“合理的持久的均衡发展”为孕育可持续发展的思想和我国构建和谐社会理念的萌芽提供了土壤。
