本文通过对霍桑几篇著名的短篇小说中的人物进行分析从而挖掘其作品中所蕴含的“追寻”主题,此外,笔者对小说中“追寻”主题进行了分类研究。霍桑短篇小说中蕴藏的“追寻”主题赋予了其作品浓重的黑色气息和悲剧性,笔者最后指出正是其短篇小说中“追寻”主题的存在使得其作品更具戏剧张力和表现力,也成就了其小说“心理罗曼司”的美誉。
This article explores the “chase ” theme contained in his works by analyzing the characters in several famous short stories by Hawthorne. In addition, the author conducts a classification research on the theme of chasing in the novel. Hawthorne ’s short stories contain “chasing ” theme gives his works a strong black flavor and tragedy, the author finally pointed out that it is his short story “chasing ” the existence of the theme makes his work more dramatic tension and Expressive, but also the achievements of the novel “Psychological Romance ” reputation.
