Sulphide ores are usually analyzed by conventional flame atomic absorption spectrometry (sample is turned into solution and graphite furnace is used as atomizer). However, the most frequently reported and fastest method of analysis in the past is still emission spectroscopy. The powder samples were introduced into the arc discharge by the sprinkle-blow method. The contents of Cu, Pb and Zn in sulfide ores and flotation products were measured on a ДФС-10 light meter and the concentration range was 0.1-3%.
