The article holds that informatization, networking and knowledge economy are the conditions for the sustainable development of the library in the new century. It is the basis for its comprehensive and accurate scientific positioning. The preservation and utilization of information resources is the core. Scientific and effective management is the guarantee. Resources Sharing is the way out; Innovation is the driving force; Talent responsibility is the guarantee; Improving librarian’s quality is the key; Satisfying the information needs of users and promoting the coordinated development of society is the goal; Serving the improvement of people’s quality and promoting people’s all-round development are the purposes.
