The Erlian Basin was once considered to be a region lacking Triassic sediments. The sporopollen fossil analysis of the well Tanshen-1 well in the Alathan cohesion for the first time confirmed the existence of the Early Triassic strata in the Erlian Basin. The apparent thickness of the Lower Triassic in Well Tanshen-1 is 1 339m (558 ~ 1897m) with purple-red and reddish-brown mudstone with gray-green mudstone, thickening downward, gravel mudstone, gravel The rocks increased with unconformity with the overlying Jurassic and underlying Upper Permian. The deep-seated 700 ~ 1896 m production occurs mainly in the Lim atula sporites, and the Taeniaesporites have a certain amount of sporopollen assemblages characterized by Lundbladispora, Aratrisporites and Lueckisporites. This finding is of great significance to re-understand the geological development history of Erlian Basin
