In order to study the value of the National Health and Health Visits Survey to surveys and policy activities among countries and countries around the world, this paper investigates current and future health visits in the 15 member states of the European Community, as well as in Norway, Iceland, and Switzerland. The method and content were investigated. The National Health Visitors Survey has been implemented in most countries but excludes Greece (in some regions only), Luxembourg, Ireland and Iceland (only multi-target surveys). Health visits in 14 other countries provided routine data on major health topics. Seven of the 14 reviewed health issues were evaluated in all countries. Questions about health conditions (such as self-assessment of health status, long-term physical disability issues, height and weight) and medical expenses (such as health advice for general practitioners) are usually included. In addition to smoking habits, lifestyle issues are rarely included. Questions about diet and narcotic drugs and nicotine are often included in special investigations. Although there are differences in the content, frequency, and methods of investigation in different countries, these surveys are valuable sources of European health information.
