Yancheng suffered two typhoon attacks in 2000, causing heavy losses. Typhoon “Kai Tak” No. 4 on July 10 landed in Central County, Zhejiang Province. From July 11 to July 12, it affected Yancheng City. There were 8 to 10 gales along the coast. The total heavy rain and heavy rainfall in the city were 80 to 130 mm.
