Objective To analyze the homology of strains isolated from food poisoning by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) to provide basis for identifying the cause and traceability. Methods Patients, food practitioners, environmental samples and sample-preserved food were isolated and identified. PFGE analysis was performed on the isolated strains. Results A total of 137 samples were collected and 11 strains of Vibrio parahaemolyticus were detected. Among them, 5 samples came from patients, 3 samples from cold cabbage cook, 1 sample from scallop, 2 samples from lobster pond Gui Yuchi breeding water. The PFGE analysis of 11 isolates showed that the homology of 10 isolates with Vibrio parahaemolyticus was 100.0%, except one sample shared 60.0% identity with the remaining 10 isolates. Conclusion PFGE typing revealed the epidemiological relationship between strains and provided molecular epidemiological evidence for the analysis and tracing of the events.
