Reading, No. 14, 1958, published an article by Comrade Ye Baixin that criticized the “philosophical research” as a departure from reality and from the masses. This criticism, I think, is basically correct. Here I would like to add a little advice on the issue. The “philosophical research” of the retail work done very unsatisfactory. Take the journal No. 5 in 1958 as an example, only 1 in Qinghai Province, 2 in Hubei Province, 7 in Guangxi Province and 8 in Fujian Province. In each province, there are quite a few tertiary schools, agencies and factories. How many retail outlets in the province are 1-8? What is the distribution in the whole province? How is it supplied? The situation in far areas is not the case with Beijing.
