Mr. Lu Shuxiang published an article in the People’s Daily in 1978, pointing out sharply that there is a problem with the low cost of Chinese language teaching in middle schools. Since then, there has been an upsurge of language teaching reform throughout the country. The majority of Chinese teachers have made great efforts to explore and actively practice. They have achieved certain results in the reform of textbooks and teaching methods.
