Moscow Railway Institute developed a locomotive traction motor technology diagnostic test bed. This test rig can be rated traction motor commutation stability and potential stability, in advance to determine the winding insulation breakdown voltage value to identify the armature bearing failure. The test bench uses controllable microcomputers and, when combined with an A / D converter, multiplexer, D / A converter and digital printer, can assess the stability of the tortoise motor’s electromechanical, thermal and ventilation parameters.
