This paper reports an investigation of optimizing separation and detection foranimal prostaglanadins, i. e. prostaglandins E2 (PGE2) and thromboxane B2(TXB2), bycapillary zone electrophoresis with indirect UV detection at 254 nm.It was found that the addinon of 3 mmol/L phosphomolybdic acid in 5 mmol/L chromate chromate can lower the detectionlimits. The linear ranges for TXB2 and PGE2 were the same, i. e. 5-80 μg/mL, theanalytical precisions (n=8) were 1.2%~1.4% and 3.5% for the measurement of the migrationtimes and for the determination with peak height, respectively. This approach wasdemonstrated in the lung of SD mouse and the results obtained agreed with those from references.
