This article is from the Swahili edition of the Nationalist newspaper in Tanzania. Author Nga-layson Mosha graduated from the University of Dar es Salaam in 1962 and now serves as the Swahili Association in Tanzania. This short story uses first-person tactics to mock and reveal innocent people and create unjust imprisonment through the story of the joys and sorrows of orphan Moeza and his satire on the official figures Paul Ray, Mosa, an innocent young man, was jailed for unwarranted charges and persecuted. Finally, he gained the experience of turning snow into a new life. Tanzania has a well-known proverb, “The Bandits have only forty days,” akin to our common saying that “there are good and good, evil and bad.” The novel emphasizes that justice will be done and that conspirators will be punished. This is of some realistic significance. However, at the end of the novel, the protagonist relies on the introduction of father-in-law to become the manager and the presiding judge fairly imposes legal sanctions on the framed people. This seems to give the impression that the protagonist suffered only from the bad guys, And that society is still fair. This will inevitably weaken the educational significance of the work. Nevertheless, this work still expresses the good wishes of the people for justice and is worth reading.
