2015年1月,浙江省文物考古研究所会同湖州市文物保护管理所对太嘉河整治工程涉及的位于湖州市南浔区旧馆镇寺桥村的寺前遗址进行了抢救性考古发掘。本次考古发掘的主要收获是发现了一处宋元时期的池塘,池塘呈不规则形,东西最宽处14米,南北残长15.5米,中心最深处1.1米。池塘内东南边缘处出土大量宋元时期陶瓷器,据初步整理统计,可复原器物200余件,瓷器器形有碗、盏、双鱼洗、盘、香炉、壶、器盖、鸟食处米,据初步鸟食
