Recently, Loma completed a series of tethered flight tests of the Long Range Anti-Ship Missile (LRASM) at the Muu Kok Offshore Test Ground in California, paving the way for the missile launch and free-flight test later this year. The platform used for these experiments was a B-1B bomber from the U.S. Air Force’s 337th Squadron of Experimentation and Identification, with the missiles being hung in the aircraft’s buried bomb bay. The test objectives are the collection of telemetry data for post-flight analysis, the validation of suitable control room telemetry displays, and simulation of all testing activities that will take place in subsequent airlamp trials. The test results meet all the expected goals.
