解放以来,新疆的石油普查勘探工作,在党中央的亲切关怀下,经过地质、石油部门的通力合作和新疆各族人民的共同努力,已经取得重大进展,发现和开发了克拉玛依等油田,为促进边疆经济文化繁荣和巩固边防作出了重要贡献。近年来,地质矿产部、石油工业部、中国科学院和一些高等院校,通过多种渠道,采用不同方式,从内地组织力量,大力支援新疆的石油普查勘探,使面积达74万平方公里的新疆三个大中型沉积盆
