古建筑一般是指古人遗留下来的具有较长历史年代的寺、庙、殿、楼、塔、宫、陵等建筑。它是研究古代社会政治经济、文化艺术、宗教信仰的历史资料,也是人类文化遗产的瑰宝。当今世界上具有深远政治影响和独特建筑艺术风格的五大宫(北京的故宫、美国的白宫、法国的凡尔赛宫、英国的白金汉宫和俄罗斯的克里姆林宫)就是典型古建筑的象征。 我国历史悠久,素以世界文明古国著称,古建筑遍布全国各地;尤以北京、西安为最,两地古建筑数量之多、规模之宏大、气势之雄伟堪称世界奇迹。1982年被国务院列为国家级重点文物加以保护的古建筑就有数千处之多,而被省、市、县一级列为重点文物保护单位的古建筑则更是数不胜数。由此可见,古建筑在我国
