生活于清代中叶的郑板桥,是所谓“扬州八怪”之一。当然,八怪是就画坛中崛起的新画派而言,不是指文坛里的事。然而,郑板桥的“怪”,与其他七怪不同,是贯通于画坛和文坛的。在清代文学领域内,他也可算一怪。这“怪”,就是与众不同,与正统相违,表现为他文学思想中的一些特点。郑板桥并没有讨论文学理论的专著,他的文学思想散见于他的诗词书信之中。他有关文学的议论虽不集中,但其中心思想是明确的,其矛头是指向当时诗文创作的一些弊端的。

Zheng Banqiao did not discuss literary theory monographs, his literary ideas scattered in his poetry letters. Although his argument about literature is not concentrated, his central idea is clear. His spearhead points to some shortcomings of poetry and prose writing at that time.
