OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of safflower decoction on the anti-oxidative capacity of immunosuppressed mice induced by cyclophosphamide and its inhibitory effect on glucose tolerance and α-glucosidase activity in normal rats. Methods: Mice were immunosuppressed by intraperitoneal injection of cyclophosphamide. The activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and malondialdehyde (MDA) in serum were measured. Inhibition of glucosidase activity and its effect on glucose tolerance in normal rats. Results: After immunization of mice with low immunity, the activity of SOD and CAT in serum increased significantly and the content of MDA decreased significantly. The cherry leaf decoction could significantly inhibit the increase of blood sugar in normal rats after inoculation of sucrose. In vitro experiments In the α-glucosidase activity was significantly inhibited. Conclusion: Cherry leaves can enhance the anti-oxidative ability of immunocompromised mice, and inhibit the postprandial hyperglycemia by inhibiting α-glucosidase activity.
