1959年中国农业科学院大豆研究所,在党的领导下,贯彻土洋结合和一套两条腿走路的方針,开展了土农药的研究工作。为了挖掘土农药資源,除进行有毒植物的收集和药效测定工作外,并多次的深入了吉林地区各化学工厂,先后調查搜集了部分工业廢物28种,經过直接加水稀释,分别对粘虫、稻绵腐病、稻瘟病、高粱黑穗病等主要病虫进行了室內药效测定。根据初步测定的结果証明,工业废物对防治病虫害是一种有效的土农药之一,效果好、成本低、使用方便。现将一年来测定的方法及結果介紹如下:
