Drug resistance has always been a major problem in the treatment of gastric cancer. To evaluate the mechanism of this drug resistance, the authors examined the expression of the MDR1 gene, a multidrug-resistant primary gastric cancer. Patients and Methods Gastric cancer specimens were taken from 22 patients who had undergone surgical treatment. (male 16, female 6), mean age 67 years old.
