Objective To investigate the population, density and dynamic changes of rodents in Beichuan earthquake-hit area and to monitor the dynamics of rodents in Beichuan new county. Methods In July and October of 2009 and January and April of 2010, a dynamic investigation of rodent population was conducted in farmland in Beichuan, Mianyang City. Results In July 2009, 44 mouse-shaped animals were captured, belonging to 4 families of 2 families, 4 genera and 4 species, with a density of 20.66%. The sex ratio was 1: 0.87. The female pregnancy rate was 50.00% and the average number of embryos was 3.6. 28 murine animals were captured in the month, belonging to 2 families, 2 genera and 2 species, with a density of 16.47%, a male-female ratio of 1: 1, a pregnant female pregnancy rate of 25.00% and an average of 3.0 embryos. In January 2010, 8 animals belong to 2 families, 2 genera and 2 species, the density is 4.00%, the male-female ratio is 1: 0.33, the female pregnancy rate is 0, the average number of embryos is 0. In April 2010, 18 mouse-shaped animals were captured, belonging to 2 families, 2 genera and 2 species, with a density of 8.37%. The male-female ratio was 1: 0.64. The female pregnancy rate was 71.43% and the average number of embryos was 4.0. 4 times to capture mouse-shaped animals are the dominant species of Sichuan Bobtail. CONCLUSION: The density of mouse-shaped animals in different fields fluctuates with the seasons, which may be affected by the seasons, the temperature changes, the growth status of crops and the reproduction time of rodents. In addition, the influence of major earthquakes on the abnormality of rodents may be affected.
