草履蚧一年发生1代,以卵在树根附近的土缝中越冬。在沂水,2月底孵化为若虫,3月中旬开始上树危害,4月上～5月上旬为害最重。 1994年5月4日用10倍氧化乐果+2％平平加涂环,收到良好效果。其方法是:距地面40～60cm的光滑处,将树干上的老皮刮除15～20cm,待露出柿黄色或棕褐色的韧皮部时,用旧布包扎2～3层(根据布的厚薄及吸水性决定层数),固定好,涂上配制好的药液,外层包扎塑料薄膜。然后每间隔7天在布上涂1次药。
