According to the British “Daily Mail” reported that recently, Harvard School of Public Health published a study shows that eating more whole grains can reduce the risk of cancer, heart disease and diabetes, prolong life. According to data from the study, people who consumed 34 grams of whole-grain on average daily had a 17% lower chance of premature death than those who consumed only 3.98 grams of whole-wheat foods on average daily. The result is still valid given other health-related factors such as obesity and exercise. In addition, large amounts of whole-grain foods were able to reduce the chances of death from respiratory disease and diabetes by 11% and 48%, respectively. The large intake of cereal fiber was able to reduce the risk of cancer and diabetes by 15% and 34% respectively.
