Status Quo: Home textiles are one of the three major areas for textile end products. In 2000, the output value of China’s textile industry accounted for about 16% of the current value of the textile industry in the whole society and 22% of the final product of the three major textile categories. January-September 2001, home textile imports 1.48 billion US dollars, exports 3.94 billion US dollars. International competitiveness of home textiles is much lower than the competitiveness of Chinese clothing, especially difficult to enter the European and American markets.
