The new double-track, located in central Italy from Rome to Florence, started in 1970. The new line is parallel to and interspersed with an existing 314 km low-standard double-track line, which has been shortened to 254 km in height and is called the first “Tokaido” high-speed railway in Europe. This new line project completed its southern section over a six-year period, 122.5 kilometers between the Citta della Pieve at Rome and the Chiusi South Station. February 24, 1977, hosted by the Italian Minister of Transport held the opening ceremony of the paragraph. (For a brief description of the location and design of the new Rome-Florence line, see Foreign Rail Dynamics, 1975, No. 2.) This new line is one of the most important north-south lines in the Italian railway network, Milan, to the center of the Naples line. Its construction solved one of the weakest rings on the main line
