目的 论证在昆明医科大学开展医学英语(EMP)教学的可能性和必要性.方法 问卷调查法调查昆明医科大学学生语言能力倾向和对医学英语课的需求,统计他们的四级成绩和实际选课情况,并做相应的统计分析.结果 调查和统计表明昆明医科大学76.84％的学生具有较好的语言能力倾向,68.5％的学生有较强的医学英语学习需求,2011级四级累计通过39.28％,过关学生的平均分为456.09,2012级对应数据分别是45.09％和461.53,逐年提高的四级成绩提供了学习医学英语的客观条件之一,实际选课情况证明医学英语课符合他们的需求.结论 统一的基础英语课程与学生的兴趣和能力不完全匹配,如果要充分利用学生的语言天赋、满足他们的学习需求,就应当把教学中心向EMP方向转移,从而增强语言教学的实用性.
