Neutron logging is a general term for a set of logging methods based on the deceleration effect and the trapping effect produced when the neutron interacts with the material. It includes neutron-gamma logging and neutron-neutron logging class. Neutron logging has become one of the most important conventional logging in the field. In the past ten years, in order to carry out the digital processing and quantitative interpretation of coalfield well logging data, foreign countries have gradually applied the neutron logging to coalfield logging. Nowadays, neutron logging has become an indispensable method for logging in modern coalfields. This talk will first briefly outline some of the basics of neutron logging
