Since the advent of mercury, platinum and gold-based mercury-plated electrodes, they have attracted people’s attention due to the fact that they retain the over-voltage of hydrogen, the electrochemical performance of precious metals, and the low mercury content. On the basis of the literature [5,6], we further discussed some characteristics of the mercury film electrode and the problems that should be noticed when used on the JP-1 (A) oscilloscope, and analyzed the influence of the lead, Zinc, cadmium conducted a certain condition test. Experiments have shown that it is entirely possible to replace the drop-in-mercury electrode in a routine analysis if the conditions are properly controlled and the characteristics of the electrode are to be used.
