如今,世界现在已经70亿人了,如何解决住的问题?北京的四合院是一个典范,我们要思考四合院现在谁能住?老百姓不能住。它代表的是当时生活的浓缩,一个家可能住着三房姨太太,姑嫂、叔侄在一起,解决家庭和睦和对外交流,那是当时的对外结果,是传统,四合院是这是传统的一个载体。故宫是中国皇帝三宫六院前朝后殿左舍右主的一个体制的浓缩,它的建筑成就并不能解眼前60亿甚至70亿人口的居住和工作、生活,所以必须要反思。当我们的时间流、空间域发生变化的时候,设计师要有能力创造一种新文化,即创造传统,而不是继承传统,这是设计师的责任。我们要规划人类未来的生活,而不是跟着祖先去生活。中国现在很复杂,各种各样的思潮,也有很时髦、时尚、奢华的产品;有传统的才子佳人帝王将相的东西,也有信息社会的东西。到底中国如何选择?我们选择什么样的生活方式生存?这是中国人自己要思考的,而不是简单的照外国的先进发达国家的模式去做。

This is the Chinese people to think about themselves, rather than simply follow the model of advanced foreign countries to do.
