汤礼治同志的「没有正确的试验设计就不可能进行试验」一文,提出农业工作者因为忽视试验设计和事先考虑不周密而造成工作上的损失和经济上的浪费;这是一个很值得注意的问题。他所报道的事实虽只限于某些农场和一般农作物的田间试验,但这种现象是相当普遍地存在于大小农业试验研究机关的各种不同性质的试验工作中。由于设计错误或考虑不周,致使试验得不到正确的结论,不仅仅是试验工作者和个别农业试验场的损失,而是整个国家人民的重大损失;尤其重要的是时间的浪费,许多作物一年只能生长一次,一失败就是一年!这个偏向应该大力地加以克服。我们认为一个正确的试验应该是:(一)结合实际;(二)设计合理;(三)管理周密;(四)记载精确。从实际的问题出发,针对目前情况加以详细考虑,拟订合理计划,然后去严密(必要時得灵活运用)执行,只有如此,才能得到正确的结论,才能为农民群众解决问题。这是干部思想的一个具体问题,我们固然要下决心精通农务搞好技术,但更重要的是对过去旧社会遗留给我们的对人民事业粗枝大叶,不够负责任的思想作风的残余,予以彻底地肃清!
