大麦是一种传统的粮食作物,过去我县曾有较大面积的种植。进入六十年代,由于稻田绿肥、双季稻的推广种植,大麦生产受到排挤,加之种植的本地大麦株高易倒伏,产量低而不稳,面积一再减少,且零星分散。到1982年,全县实际收获面积仅2284亩,总产只19万公斤,亩产83公斤,大麦生产处于奄奄一夕的状况。近年来,随着饲料工业和食品工业的发展,大麦生产被重新认识。1983年,我县从湖南省农业厅粮油生产局引进沪麦四号,盐辐矮
