五千多年的良渚文化和二千二百多年的建制历史赋予了杭州秀丽的山水和浓厚的历史文化底蕴。城市拥有山水相依、城湖合璧的独特环境风貌。杭州低层低密度住宅以其尺度宜人、精致、典雅气质独步市场。据统计,2004年杭州市商品房销售面积605.1万,销售金额330亿元,商品房成交均价5400元/m~2。杭州城镇居民可支配收入14565元,城市化水平51%,城镇居民人均居住面积17.8平方米。低层低密度住宅售价范围在5000~18000元之间。不久前,由广州市都市发展研究会、城市规划协会组织的考察团对上海、杭州、苏州、无锡和南京的低层低密度住宅进行了一次专题考察。
